Sunday: A Day of Rest

Corbin normally takes a nap around 11:00 in the morning except on Sunday. We have church from 9:00 to 12:00, so I put him down after church. Last Sunday, I was going about my normal routine while Jeremy was doing his financial stuff. I like to feed Corbin before his nap. I was in the middle of feeding him and had to grab something from upstairs. I ran up, came back down, and found him fast asleep in his highchair. This is the kid that hates to fall asleep and will fight it as long as he can unless he is in his bed or a pack and play. I was so shocked...

Corbin's Favorite Things

We thought we should put a post about Corbin's favorite toys. I don't know why parents buy their kids toys. All Corbin needs is a phone or remote control.


Another favorite thing for Corbin is to go to certain places. As soon as Corbin sees the refrigerator door open, he heads toward it. Now he has figured out that he can climb in and tries to get up into the shelves.


Another favorite for Corbin is anything that feels like his blanket. Whenever he comes accross a blanket or a towel that he thinks feels like a blanket, he cuddles into it as shown below.


The last of Corbin's favorite things is his bath. If Corbin hears his bath water running, he is on his way there. There have been times that he has tried to climb in fully clothed. Jeremy can strip him down in his room and put him on the ground and he will crawl to the tub in no time.

11 Months Old

Corbin is now 11 months old. It is amazing that the time has gone by so fast. It is so interesting to see how his personality grows almost every day. Corbin now loves giving kisses, open mouth of course. Kisses always end with a laugh. He was starting to walk, but has kind of put that on hold since he last got sick. We still haven't mastered going down stairs. He thinks he needs to go down facing the wrong way and is a little stubborn (just like his parents).

These have been the best 11 months. We are so lucky to have Corbin!

President's Weekend

To take advantage of the extended weekend, we went to St. George with friends. It was great to have Kylee and Zack go with us because they are so good with Corbin and he loves them.

Corbin was a trooper on the drive down. When we got to the house, we were playing with him and notice something in his mouth... He finally cut his first tooth. Jeremy says, "He's a real boy now." We also found out that Corbin' s favorite toy down there was just crawling under the coffee table.
While we were there, we went to some of the homes in the Parade of Homes. We love to see the new and creative things that people put into their homes. One house was over 15,000 square feet. The basement of the home had a basketball court, racquetball court, weight room, putting green, and rock wall. Quite the house...
Kylee's sister Shelese, her husband Quinn, and their friends Natalie and Clay were also down in St. George, so we spent Saturday and Sunday night talking and getting to know them better. Against Jeremy and Zack's wishes, Kylee and I created our own Newlywed Game to get to know each other better and make things fun... It turned out surprisingly well. Jeremy and I won of course. It was just nice to be able to get away with friends and do some shopping.

We reluctantly left yesterday afternoon to come home so Corbin could see my parents before their trip. Corbin only took about a 30 minute nap, but was great. He just chilled in his carseat and read his books. We didn't have to stop once on the way home.

10 Months

I guess you can call us slackers for not posting anything since Corbin's 9 month check-up. Things have been a little busy with me going back to work for tax season.

Corbin is getting used to a baby sitter that isn't family. He stays upstairs from where I work during the day. I have found that in most cases, it makes things easier if I don't go up and visit. The first few days weren't the best, but he is now getting along great with her and the other kids.

We are still working on the stairs with Corbin. He is way too brave, and will climb the stairs constantly, but struggles to get down the right way.

Corbin pulls himself up on everything and is able to balance until he realizes that nothing is holding him up. He then allows himself to fall onto his rear to start crawling. Jeremy tries to trick him into taking steps, but he realizes that he isn't being physically supported and gives up.

I think we have been completely blessed and fortunate to have such a fantastic son... Especially for our first.

9 Months Old

It seems like just yesterday we were taking Corbin to the doctor for his one-week check-up, but my boy is now nine months old.

Here are some of the vitals :

30 inches long (86 percentile)
21.3 pounds (55 percentile)



It seems like he is learning and doing something new everyday. On Wednesday, Jeremy threw some things up the stairs that Corbin was playing with, so Corbin decided to climb the stairs. He was so proud of himself when he got to the top. He hasn't learned how to come down them though. When Jeremy shows him how by pulling him down on his belly, he just laughs because he thinks it is a game.

Yesterday I was telling Jeremy that I had been working with him on his push-toy to have him learn to walk. Jeremy decided to see the results shown below:



Here are some more of the things he has learned:

He says Momma, Dadda, Hi, Yeah, and no, no.



He says "Hi Dad" anytime the phone rings or we are talking to someone (sorry Grandma)

He loves to jump up and down while holding on to the side of his crib.

He is a very fast crawler, and pulls himself up on everything.

New Years in St. George

We went to my parents' house in St. George for New Year's Eve. It was a lot of fun being with the family. We played Rock Band, many board games, the boys watched their sports games, went golfing, and rode motorcycles (Not Jeremy... He'd kill himself and take someone with him).




We did some shopping in St. George and we also went to Vegas for a day and did some shopping there. Corbin really loved his first trip to Vegas, he loved looking at all of the people and the lights.



We went swimming with Brandon and Jeanette's family. Corbin really loves the water and loved playing with the girls, it was also fun to see what Ryder thought of his first time in the pool



We also had our sixth anniversary while we were down there. I can't believe we have been married for six years! I am very lucky to have such a great husband.

Last, but not least, Corbin got a "big boy" car seat and he loved riding in it.
