Happy Halloween

On Halloween, I took the boys to Jeremy's work.  They showed off their costumes and saw Jeremy in his...  Hudson was a little hesitant with Jeremy and that hair.  They also got to do a little Trick or Treating there.  Everyone at Jeremy's work dresses up and decorates their areas to match their theme.

Corbin got all painted up again to trick or treat around the circle.

Hudson was so good.  He kept the eye patch and clip-on earring on the entire time.
Corbin really loved Halloween.  He thought it was so great that we got to celebrate it for 3 days.  He got way too much candy, but loved every second of it.   The next morning he asked me if he got to go Trick or Treating again.  I thought the boys looked so cute.

Pratt Halloween Party

We've tried to institute the Huntsman Halloween tradition with the Pratt family here.  We had everyone over for some soup and family time.
Here's Erin holding Hudson while he's wearing Jeremy's mullet wig.

Everyone chlling at the bar after eating.
It turned out to be a nice day.  The kids loved playing out on the trampoline.

Trunk or Treat

We had the ward trunk or treat and showed the boys' costumes off.  Corbin wasn't too sure about the face paint, until it was all on.  Then he thought he was the coolest.
Hudson was such a trooper.  He kept his costume on and sat in the stroller as Jeremy pushed him around to every car with Corbin.  I think the wrapped sucker in his hand had him more excited than anything.
We put our pumpkins in the back of the pickup as our decoration.
We had Corbin's Halloween pajamas under his costume, which he loved.  Two layers of costumes.
This was also the first night that Hudson started to pull himself up on things...

Happy Birthday Jeremy

Jeremy turned 31 before Halloween.
We didn't get to go out for his birthday because that was the day of ward trunk or treat.  We went out a few weeks later.

I think Corbin was more excited than Jeremy about the birthday, presents, etc.
I did get in trouble with Corbin for not getting Jeremy a cake on his birthday.  According to Corbin, everyone should have a cake on their birthday.
We had to have the picture with Jeremy holding up his presents.
Below is Jeremy with the boys.  Hudson showed the war wounds of what happens when Corbin pushed a Tonka truck off the couch, directly onto his face.  At least it wasn't a week later, when we were scheduled to take family pictures...

Pumpkin Carving

We had to have carved pumpkins for Halloween.
Jeremy got most of the work to clear out the pumpkins
Corbin loved working next to Jeremy on the pumpkins. He did find out that the inside of pumpkins is gross..

Here he is with the finished products.  Corbin was so happy to stay up late and be able to pick out what his pumpkin should look like.

Preschool Halloween Party

Corbin was so excited to show off his costume at his preschool Halloween party.

His teacher had each kid get up on a little pedestal to show off their costume.
Corbin was more than happy to show off the costume.

Free reign

I thought I should document a rarity at our house. Hudson getting to play with toys uninhibited by his brother.

Normally Corbin is dictating to Hudson what he can play with as soon as Hudson nears the "toy cubbie."  Corbin was playing at a friend's house.  Hudson was so happy...

Sugar Cookies

We have started a tradition of making sugar cookies for Halloween.
Corbin was so happy to help this year with the making of the cookies.

I think that part of the excitement is in seeing how much of a mess can be made with the flour.

Cali Day 7

Day 7 was San Diego Zoo...
All the kids loved the zoo. It seemed as though Corbin and Memphis were inseparable at times.
There was a lot of walking and a lot of posing at the Zoo.
One of the kids' favorite stops was with the gorillas.  There was one that was playing with things in front of the glass and making faces at different kids and banging on the glass.

We took a picture in front of the zoo sign with Corbin a few years ago.  You can't pass that up.
After the zoo, we went to Seaport Village.

This is when Corbin realized that all of the spots on the cement were bird droppings.
We got back to the hotel and took the kids swimming.  Both of our boys absolutely love the water.
Corbin and Ryder had to get in a Chicken Fight...
After all that went on that day, the boys were exhausted.  They got in their beds and crashed.  That is what seven straight days will do to little boys.

We flew home the next day, while the others drove back to Utah.  It was such a great trip!!!  I was amazed at how well the boys behaved.

Cali Day 6:

Day 6 was Sea World...
We got up the morning of Day 6, and drove down to San Diego.  We pulled into Sea World just as it was opening.  The kids loved the shark exhibit.
The boys were playing and it was just too cute to pass up.
The Killer Whale Show is a must.  It was a little cold, so we stayed clear of the splash zone.

We have a picture in this same spot two years earlier with Corbin.
I don't know what it is about penguins, but Corbin loves them.
One of the very best things was watching how the kids played with Hudson.  They had not seen him since August.  He loved the attention.
We had to go to Old Town and have some Mexican food.
Corbin had his own bed next to us and was all about cuddling with Hudson.  Hudson wasn't quite as excited...
