Trip to the Zoo

We weren't able to do anything special for Corbin for the day of his birthday, but promised him that when it got warm after his birthday, that we would take him to the zoo. Things were so nice that we decided that Jeremy should take a day off and we could go during the week.

Grandma Kathy was here from Oregon, so we decided to make it a family trip to the zoo.

When we went to the elephant portion, the trainers were feeding the elephants and having them perform tricks. We were pretty impressed.

We were also able to go on the Carousel at the Zoo. Corbin loved it. Here is a picture of everybody that rode. Spencer wasn't too sure about the carousel, so he wasn't in the picture.

We had an interesting experience at the Primate house. We were pushing Corbin through and he was watching a primate of some kind eat some food. All of a sudden, the primate came up to the glass and was watching Corbin like he was the animal behind the glass. It kind of scared him when the primate moved so suddenly, but then he just chilled and watch the animal watching him back.

Corbin was so good through the whole thing, especially considering that he didn't get more than 10 minutes of a morning nap and no afternoon nap. It did wear him out though. He was asleep before we had been on the road for less than 5 minutes heading home. What a great day for a great kid!!!

Easter

We had the Annual Huntsman Easter Egg hunt and BBQ on Saturday at my parent's house. It was raining off and on Saturday, so the Easter Egg Hunt was moved to the basement instead of the yard.

As usual, the kids were spoiled completely by Grandma and Grandpa. Corbin got a lot of clothes for Easter/Birthday. He was so excited to look at each one.

Corbin really liked Grandpa Birrell's cane. He thought that was the coolest toy in the house.

Easter Sunday was really nice too. Corbin and Jeremy were both fighting colds, so Sunday was low key to allow them to rest and get better. Jeremy and Corbin left church early to rest and by the time I got home, they were both napping. Due to that, I wasn't able to get a picture of Corbin in his new Easter Sunday outfit.

The Big First Birthday

Well yesterday, the 10th, was Corbin's 1st birthday. I had to work in the morning and then that afternoon I took Corbin in for his check-up. I know what a mean mom I am making him get shots on his birthday, but only I will remember is the good thing. We were also able to get some medication to hopefully great rid of this cough he has had for about six weeks. He is getting so big I can't believe it. Here are his stats:

Height: 31 inches (90%) Hopefully he will stay on the tall side. Weight: 22 lbs 4 oz. (44%)

It still seems so unreal to me that I had him a year ago. It seems just like yesterday that Jeremy was showing him to me after they pulled him out. This sure has been one of the best years so far, I must say. He is such a great kid. It seems like everyday he is doing new things and trying to say more all of the time. He has a great personality and loves anyone and everyone. We had his birthday party at my Mom and Dad's along with the Easter Celebration. You can tell in some of the pictures he was not feeling the best but he sure was good all day. He was so thrilled to open his first present but then he just wanted to play with it and the paper. Luckily, he had some great helpers with opening his presents. Corbin got a lot of great gifts from his grandparents, cousins, and aunts & uncles. Thank you all so much!!!

He was really happy when we showed him his cake he just wanted to jump right in. He loved every minute of having his own cake to play with. I think he had a pretty good Birthday. I just hope this next year doesn't go by as fast.

Easter Bunny?

We went to Costco last Saturday between the sessions of conference. When we walked out, there was a group taking pictures with the Easter Bunny. We thought we could see how well Corbin would do. He wasn't scared at all. He just chilled there. The only problem we had was that he kept either looking at the bunny or at the people walking by. We had a hard time getting him to look at us, much less smile.

I especially like the hair coming out of the Easter Bunny's mask...
