First Solids and a Happy Boy

I wanted to document for journaling purposes when Hudson first had solids and what a happy baby he is.

We started with rice cereal and have moved on to vegetables.  Some of the first bites of veggies got some interesting responses.
He doesn't seem to dislike anything that we have fed him yet...
I have to say that we have been so blessed with how happy Hudson is.  Corbin was a very happy boy, but I don't remember Corbin laughing as much and as easy as Hudson.
He is especially happy when he wakes up.  You can count on him squealing for joy when he sees you.

Easter Fun

We had a great Easter this year...

The little kids got their own hunt in the front yard while the boys hid the eggs in the back yard.
You can see just how creative they got with hiding the eggs.  Jeremy's dad had to lift Maddox up to get that egg.
Easter Morning was another great event.
Corbin came out of his room in the morning and found a trail of eggs leading him to his Easter Basket.

I had to put this in.  Hudson was just so happy to be involved in the Easter festivities.

Here are the boys sitting with their Easter Baskets...

4 Months Old

Hudson turned four months on April 23.

On May 4, I took him to his check up and here is his information:
Weight : 17 lbs 2 oz (90 percentile)
Height: 26 1/4 in (90 percentile)

Here's some information about Hudson:
  • He loves his older brother.
  • His brother calls him Fluffy Bear.
  • He is so happy in the morning.
  • He laughs when he is being undressed.
  • He loves his baths.
  • He rolls onto his sides, but not all the way over yet.
  • He laughs and smiles all of the time.
  • Sleeps from about 8:30 PM to around 7:00 AM and is still a great napper.
  • Hudson loves being outside in the stroller.
  • He coughs when he is mad or wants attention.  This is the precursor to crying.
We are so blessed to have Hudson in our lives!!! We sure love this boy!!!

Coloring Eggs

This was the first year that we have colored eggs with Corbin.
We did this a few days before Easter since we knew there was going to be a busy weekend ahead.
He had to show off the tool that was used to lift the eggs.
We got the set that came with crayons and stickers with cars on them.  Corbin loved decorating.
Surprisingly, Corbin has found a new love for eating hard boiled eggs since then...

Meeting the Easter Bunny

We took a trip to the mall and were fortunate to be there when they had the Easter Bunny.  Corbin saw the sign as we walked in and would not stop talking about it until we agreed to let him see the Easter Bunny.

We thought Hudson might get nervous, but he didn't even flinch.
He also never looked at anything other than off to the side.
Corbin was so happy to show off his bunny mask that was given to him.
The ears hat was also a great hit.

Wahooz

While the family that came up from Utah was still here, we decided to take the kids out to have some fun at Wahooz.  We got there just as they were opening and it was a Monday, so we didn't have to wait in line for anything.

First Corbin and I tried the go-karts.  Nobody else was there, but we totally would have won.
Later, Jeremy and Corbin raced Tara and Memphis.  Tara didn't get going when they started, and it wasn't even close.  I guess Corbin kept yelling, "We're winning!!!" the entire time.

They didn't win, but still had a good time...

Corbin really wanted to do the Motorcycle racing game.  He loves motorcycles and four wheelers.
The boys decided to play some mini golf.  This was an interesting challenge.  Jeremy said that the boys lost interest after about the second hole. Corbin did enjoy Grandpa Larry helping him learn the basics.

We had such a good time and the boys all left with prizes they picked with their tickets.

Happy Birthday Corbin

Corbin turned three years old on April 10 and we were lucky to be able to celebrate his birthday along with Hudson's blessing that same day...

My mom told Corbin that he could have whatever he wanted on his birthday cake.  After a lot of going back and forth and not being able to decide, this is what he decided to have on his cake.
He was so happy to have so much family there to sing Happy Birthday to him.
Corbin had told me a few days eariler that when he made his wish while blowing out his candles, he was going to wish for a big kid bike.  I was really glad because we had already decide to get him one because he was too big for his other one.
We're still trying to get him to really smile when taking pictures...

He had to have a helmet to go with his bike, and he said that he liked this helmet over the alternatives.
Some things to know about Corbin at three:

Hudson's Blessing

We had Hudson's blessing on April 10, which was Corbin's birthday, so we got to have one party for two occasions.

We had to have some pictures before going to church

We were fortunate to have my parents come a few days early and then stay for a while
Nick and Tara also came with their kids.  We had to have a picture of the boys in their vests on the rocking chairs.

My mom and dad with their grandchildren that were there.
Jeremy's parents came and brought his Grandma Pratt.

It turned out to be such a nice day.  The kids all went and ate and played outside.

The adults stayed inside.  Here is Jeremy's older sister Kristin and Uncle Dean.

Hudson was so good during the blessing and afterward.  He loves to be cuddled.  I think he could have chilled with Tara forever.

We had such a great day and are grateful for the those that were able to come and take part.

Play Dates

We really enjoy where we live because of all of the kids that Corbin gets to play with from the neighborhood and we are relatively close to family.

We really had a good time when Karli came over with her boys for a play date.  We have not seen them since about the time we first moved up here and were still looking for a house.  I really enjoy getting to spend time with Karli.

Corbin had a great time with Grayson and still talks about the time that his "friend Grayson" came over and the had pop sickles.
