All it Took Were Cars Underwear

I thought I would try in August to get Corbin potty trained.  I knew he was ready, but I had to get myself ready.  It took some creativity to get him interested in using the potty.  We let him pick out some Cars underwear (and who wants to ruin those) and some potty treats for whenever he went in the toilet.  It really only took a few days and we no longer had accidents.

We're now more than six weeks in and have only had one accident.  I would like to take the credit, but I have been blessed with a great kid.

Alex's Visit

Alex flew home with Corbin and Me from Utah and stayed with us for just over a week.

Corbin had a ball with Alex.  He had yet another person that could give all of their attention to him.

We went over to the duck pond and rode in the paddle boats.  Alex and I shared a boat so Jeremy got to do all of the paddling with Corbin.

Alex is so great with Corbin and was very helpful to me.  She even volunteered to watch Corbin for us so that we could go out to dinner with some friends.
We were able to do a lot of things while Alex was here.  We went shopping a lot, went to the fair, and the thing we did most was go swimming with Alex.  Corbin was so excited to show Alex how good of a swimmer he is now.  We had such a great time and can't wait for her to come back.  Until my parents came to visit, Corbin referred to the guest room as Alex's room.

Splash Park

We took Corbin to the Splashpad at the park just down the road.
As you can see, he had a great time at the splashpad.  It is nice that it is so close and has a nice play area right next to the Splashpad.  He wasn't sure at first, but became comfortable quite fast.

A Fish Named Corbin

We are fortunate enough to have a swimming pool in our neighborhood and Corbin and I found that to be a great retreat over the summer.  We were able to go to the pool about 3-4 times a week.  Jeremy would join us 1-2 times a week after work.

We bought Corbin a little life jacket.  He was a little awkward at first with it, but quickly learned how to maneuver and swim on his own with it.
One of Corbin's favorite things to do is to have his dad throw him up into the air and catch him once he lands in the water.  He would constantly ask Jeremy to "do the jumper."
We had a great time at the pool this year.  Corbin progressed a ton in terms of swimming(with his life jacket).  He even did alright without it a time or two.  It will be interesting to see how he continues to progress next year when the pool opens up again.

Fair

While Alex was here visiting with us, we went to the fair.  Corbin absolutely loves the carnival rides, so we let him ride a few.
He is definitely my child.  Jeremy is not big on any kind of ride.

Corbin had to ride the Dragon Roller coaster.  We tried to get pictures of him, but were too slow to get a good one.  We picked the right time to leave as a huge wind storm came blowing through just as we got home.

Utah

I am still trying to catch up with blogging the summer, so please bear with me...

Corbin and I were able to fly to Utah to visit family for a while in August while Jeremy had to work.  We were able to hang out with cousins, do a lot of shopping, and hang out with friends.  I was also able to go to the Lion King with family and Kylee.  This was pretty much the only picture I took, and that was because Brooklyn asked me to take it.  I was bad and forgot to take pictures.  Corbin loved every second with Ryder.  These two play so great together.

It's a Boy!!!

its a boy feet

We are excited for Corbin to be a big brother in January.  We found out that we are having a boy.  Corbin always talks about his baby brother in Mom's belly and sharing his toys.
