Happy Halloween

I know it is December, but Halloween did happen.  Corbin was so excited for Halloween this year.  He was really excited for his monkey costume.  Here he is showing off his loot at the ward trunk-or-treat.
On Halloween Day, we had Jeremy's family over for dinner.  Corbin and Ashton then went trick-or-treating to our circle.  Here they are posing out front.

We had a great time at dinner, but didn't get any pictures...

The Big 3-0

So this post is late.  Jeremy turned 30 on October 29th.  I have given him a hard time about getting old, but he doesn't seem any older than when we got married.  We were really lucky that we were able to spend most of the day with him.  We got to go to his work and go trick or treating there.

Corbin loved helping his dad open his gifts.

We were able to get a babysitter so we could go to dinner and spend some alone time.  I am lucky to be married to such a great man.  He is a great dad and husband.

Pumpkin Carving

We decided to wait a while before carving the pumpkins so they wouldn't be rotten on Halloween.

Corbin was didn't like pulling out all of the insides of the pumpkins.  Jeremy was a good sport and helped clean them out and then put on the finishing touches.  Corbin did like poking it with the carving tools.

Corbin was so excited to see all of the pumpkins once Jeremy was finished with them all.

We couldn't wait for Halloween to come so we could light the candles inside of them and see them glow.

Pumpkin Patch

We tried to cram in a few activities after the cruise, even though it seemed as though most of the month was gone.  Corbin wanted a pumpkin, and Jeremy found this place that was just down the road from the house.
The first thing we did was go on a hay ride into the pumpkin patch.  We were dropped off at one end and had to carry our pumpkins back.  You can't see Corbin's face, but I think that you can tell he is a little excited about his pumpkin...
After picking our pumpkins, Corbin was able to go on a few rides.  He loved riding the horse.
He also was able to ride in the wagon carrying the pumpkins.  Here you can see some of the excitement.

Later on, Corbin was able to ride in little cow cars being pulled by a tractor.

We had a great time at Farmstead and were so excited to get pumpkins we could carve

Huntsman Family Cruise

My parents took us all on a cruise to the Western Caribbean on the Carnival Legend.  We had a total of 18 people in our group.  Our timing wasn't the best, as a hurricane caused us to miss stops in Mexico, Honduras, and Belize, but we were able to stop in Grand Cayman and Jamaica.
When we stopped in Grand Cayman, a few of us went to the beach, while others went to Stingray City.  Corbin loved the beach.  He could have played in the sand all day.  He enjoyed the water until the waves got bigger and bigger from the distant storm.
Carnival had a Kid's Club where we could leave the kids for a while.  Corbin loved it and always had great stories to tell over ice cream at night.  They always had great activities for the kids.
When we stopped in Jamaica, the family piled into two vans and we were given a tour of the island.  We did a little shopping and spent most of the day at a little beach where Corbin had a ball...
Due to the storm, we spent more time at sea than actually planned.  We took advantage of the time and hit the pool every day at sea.  The kids loved it.

We were excited every night to see what cool things were made out of towels for us by the staff.  I had to put this picture in.
One of the best things about the trip was that we all met every night for dinner in the dining room.  The food was excellent, and the staff members were great with the kids.  Corbin loved to dance with Marie.
The kids got succored into going to this little "grotto" for pictures.  It made Jeremy a little nervous, but the pictures aren't bad.
Above is from one of the two dress up nights we had on the ship.  This is one of the few pictures that include all three of us.
Here is the whole group, minus the three guys taking pictures. My parents have a picture of the whole family, but we need to make copies for everyone.

Someone talked all the ladies into posing together.
I had to put this one on.  Corbin just looked so cute.

You may notice that there aren't too many pictures of me in here.  Who would wan pictures of an almost seven-month pregnant woman?

Busch Gardens

We disembarked from the cruise and had a day before our flight back home, so we decided to go and spend the day Busch Gardens in Tampa.
Corbin loved the Sesame Street characters.  We were able to watch a show and then the kids were able to take some pictures.
Busch Gardens was much more exciting for the little kids and the boys.  Brandon, Jeremy, and Brynnley were able to go on almost all of the roller coasters.  I was limited to just a few rides.

Corbin was so fortunate to have Brooklyn be his ride buddy.  If there was any ride that Jeremy or I couldn't go on, Brooklyn would go and make sure that Corbin would behave.

We took a nice ride on the train around the park and into the wildlife areas.

The excitement of the animals didn't out weigh the lull of the train.  Corbin crashed on Jeremy's shoulder and had a pretty decent nap.

We had a great time on and off the cruise with all of the family.  It was hard to say goodbye to Brandon, Jeanette, and the kids the next day.

Tampa Children's Museum

We went to Tampa Florida to go on a family cruise.  We wanted to make sure that we didn't feel rushed, so we flew in two days before the cruise with my parents.  The day before the cruise, we went to the Tampa Children's Museum while we waited for everyone else to come in from Utah.  There were a lot of "educational" toys that Corbin enjoyed.
There was a simulated body of water and these things you could push to simulate the creation of waves.

Corbin loved the Firehouse.  He was able to put on a fireman outfit and slide down the fire pole.

Corbin spent the majority of his time in the kitchen area. This was the Pizza kitchen.  Jeremy would ask him to make a special pizza, and Corbin would pile on all the toppings he could get.

Corbin loved playing in the water, and it made it all the more enjoyable that he was able to have fun with Grandma and Grandpa.

The Zoo

We had been working with Corbin on his bedtime routine and were having a bit of a rough time.  I thought to create a sticker chart that he could use to then earn something better.  It didn't take long for him to earn his way to the zoo.
This is the reaction we got when we told him that he earned his trip to the zoo and we were going that day.
Of course, we picked the hottest day in October to go, but he loved all of the animals.

We couldn't go through the zoo without a stop at the carousel.  Can't you see the excitement on Jeremy's face?
There weren't too many opportunities to take pictures, but Corbin loved this little giraffe.

It was my first time at that zoo and Jeremy hadn't been there for a long time.  The zoo wasn't as big and impressive as the Hogle Zoo or San Diego, but it was kind of nice to go through the whole thing in about an hour and a half.

Halloween Cookies

I have wanted to use Janeen's sugar cookie recipe, but I feared that having Corbin as my helper would result in a mess and bad cookies.  Jeremy and I decided that we would give it a try after I found some Halloween cookie cutters.
My fears were all for nothing.  Corbin did really well.  As you can see, he did make a bit of a mess, but he had so much fun using the cookie cutters on the dough.

We made so many cookies that night, and were frosting ghosts, pumpkins, cats, and bats for the next week.

Corbin wasn't interested in frosting the cookies.  He preferred to roll out the dough and use the cookie cutters.  Actually he preferred playing in the flour that was put down before rolling out the dough.
